TripoSIM eSIM review: prices, coverage and our verdict

What TripoSIM is

TripoSIM sells prepaid travel eSIMs for mobile data. It is a product of BroadNet Technologies LLC, a telecom company based in Dubai with US operations in New Jersey. The TripoSIM website has been online since 2026, and as of October 2026 it says it covers more than 200 destinations.

The plans are data only. Your own SIM keeps working for calls and texts, and you can call over apps such as WhatsApp or FaceTime. TripoSIM also offers HomeLink, which forwards calls to your home number into its app over data.

Plans and prices

There are single-country plans, regional bundles and worldwide plans. Most are a fixed amount of data for a set number of days, and many destinations also have unlimited plans. For unlimited plans TripoSIM states the daily full-speed allowance and the speed after it, so check that line before you buy.

Prices are shown in US dollars by default, and you can also pay in euros, pounds, dirhams or riyals. Every purchase is a one-time payment with no subscription; you are only charged again if you buy another plan or turn on auto top-up yourself.

Coverage and networks

Each plan lists the networks it uses and the countries it covers. Regional plans list every country included, so check that your whole route is on the list.

Hotspot sharing is allowed on most plans, as of October 2026. Look for the Hotspot badge on the plan card, and remember that data shared with other devices counts toward your allowance.

Setup and top-ups

Your QR code appears on the confirmation page right after payment and is also sent by email. On iPhone you scan it with the camera; on Android you add it from the SIM manager in Settings. TripoSIM recommends installing on WiFi before you travel. You need iOS 12.1 or Android 9 or later and an unlocked phone.

There is no TripoSIM app on the App Store or Google Play, as of October 2026. Instead you add the site to your home screen from Safari or Chrome to see your eSIMs, data use and top-ups. Plans that support top-ups can get more data instantly from your dashboard, and TripoSIM sends a notice when your data is running low.

Refunds and terms

As of October 2026, an eSIM you have not scanned or installed can be refunded within 30 days if you change your mind. Orders of $10 or more are refunded in full, as TripoSIM credit or to your card. Orders from $5 to $9.99 are refunded as TripoSIM credit only, and orders under $5 are not refunded on a change of mind.

If TripoSIM could not deliver your eSIM, a fault on its side stopped it working, or you were charged twice, you get a full refund whatever the amount. A card refund for a change of mind or a mistake on your side has a fee of $1 or 10% of the amount, whichever is higher; refunds as credit have no fee. Card refunds take 5 to 10 business days to appear.

Once the eSIM is installed and you have started using data, it cannot be refunded. TripoSIM does not mention any ID or passport check for buying a plan.

Payment and support

Checkout runs on Stripe and takes Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay and Google Pay, as of October 2026. Cryptocurrency is not listed.

Support is reached through the contact page and by email, and refund requests go through the same channel.
