Prices and value

Yesim sells data plans in fixed bundles per country, plus a pay-as-you-go option. The price block beside this section shows its current prices per country.

Plans start from one day, so a short stay does not need a long bundle, and unlimited options are sold alongside fixed-size ones. Prices differ by country and plan size, so check the live price block for your destination.

Yesim also sells plans for places such as Cuba, Iran, Sudan, Guyana, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, and several other Caribbean islands. The price block beside this section shows current prices for each.

There is also a pay-as-you-go option called Pay & Fly, which deducts data from a prepaid Ycoins balance at a per-country rate instead of selling a fixed bundle. It can make sense if you are unsure how much data you will use, but check the rate for your destination in the app first.

Coverage and networks

Yesim itself advertises more than 200 destinations. The country block beside this section shows where it currently has plans.

Beyond single-country plans, it sells regional and global plans, so multi-country trips are well catered for. Many of its plans are marked as 5G, though actual 5G access depends on the local partner network and your phone.

Yesim says it works with local operators around the world rather than through middlemen. Its help centre adds that the hotspot feature and speeds can depend on the partner network in each country.

Plans and flexibility

Flexibility is Yesim's strongest point. Validity ranges from 1 day to 365 days, and many of its plans are unlimited data plans. According to its help centre, Yesim does not apply its own fair usage policy to unlimited plans, but partner networks may set a high-speed allowance, after which speeds can slow until the daily or monthly cycle resets. It does not publish the exact allowances, so heavy users should ask support before buying.

Its terms describe optional automatic renewal for data plans, which can charge again when your data drops below 30% or a day before the plan expires. You can also keep a Ycoins balance in the app and set it to top up automatically.

Hotspot is allowed. The help centre says tethering is on by default for most plans on iOS and Android at no extra charge, with tethered data deducted from your plan, and another help article says hotspot works even on unlimited packages. It does note that local operators may restrict it in some situations.

Yesim eSIMs are data only, with no mobile number. For calls and texts it suggests apps like WhatsApp or Telegram. Separately, you can rent a virtual number in the app to receive SMS such as one-time passcodes, but its help centre says these numbers handle inbound messages only and cannot make or receive calls.

Buying, setup and the app

You can buy on the Yesim website or in its app, which is available on iOS and Android. The app is rated 4.6 on the App Store from about 2,300 ratings (October 2026).

According to its help centre, iPhone users can install the eSIM in three ways: a fast one-tap install from inside the app, scanning a QR code sent by email, or entering the activation details manually. Your phone needs to be eSIM compatible and carrier-unlocked, which its refund policy makes your responsibility to check before buying.

Payment options listed on its site include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, UnionPay, JCB, Discover and Diners Club, and its help centre also mentions Binance. Its terms mention a small €0.50 verification charge in some cases, which is returned as Ycoins.

Support and refunds

Support is available by email (support@yesim.app) and by live chat inside the app and on the website. Its help centre describes a 24/7 support team and says chats move to email if no agent is free or the issue needs more investigation.

Its refund policy allows refunds on data plans and top-ups within 30 calendar days of purchase, but only if the eSIM has not been installed, connected to a network or used, and has not expired. Refunds go back to the original payment method and can take up to 15 business days, except that approved refunds of €10 or less are issued as Ycoins, which are app credit and cannot be cashed out.

If something goes wrong technically, the policy asks you to report it within one hour with screenshots. Purchases made through third-party marketplaces follow that platform's refund rules instead.

Is Yesim legit?

Yes. Yesim is run by Genesis Group AG, a company registered in Baar, Switzerland, and has been on the market since 2019. Its about page says it has more than 4 million users and is a GSMA member.

Public ratings are solid: 4.3 on Trustpilot from about 3,000 reviews and 4.6 on the App Store from about 2,300 ratings (both October 2026). Its terms say it may ask for identity or eligibility documents at its discretion or where the law requires, so be prepared for that, although they do not describe a routine ID check at purchase.
