The bottom line

Roamic is the travel eSIM shop of Bytetravel, a Barcelona travel-tech company listed on the Spanish growth market. It sells data-only plans with hotspot allowed and a generous refund window for unused eSIMs, and it is well rated on Trustpilot. The trade-offs: there is no phone number, unlimited plans slow down after a daily allowance, and its short terms leave top-up and reinstall rules unstated (as of October 2026).

Best for: Travellers who only need mobile data, want a simple shop with low-commitment refunds for unused eSIMs, and are happy to manage everything by email and live chat.

How we score

Pros

  • Run by Bytetravel S.A, a Spanish company listed on the BME stock market, with Spanish legal terms and a registered address near Barcelona
  • Full refund if you bought on its site and never activated the eSIM, within a long window after purchase
  • Hotspot is allowed, and plans connect on 3G, 4G and 5G where the local network offers it
  • Validity starts on first data use at your destination, so you can install the eSIM well before you travel
  • No ID check: its FAQ says the eSIM is not linked to your personal details, so you can buy one for a family member
  • Rated Excellent on Trustpilot, where Roamic replies to almost every negative review (October 2026)

Cons

  • Data only: no phone number, no calls and no texts
  • Unlimited plans drop to a slow speed for the rest of the day once the daily high-speed allowance is used, and its fair usage policy restricts heavy hotspot sharing
  • No Roamic app in the app stores; you manage orders and top-ups in a separate online account
  • Its FAQ and terms do not say whether a top-up adds days, or whether you can reinstall a deleted eSIM
  • Trustpilot complaints mention slow email replies, a WhatsApp line answered by a bot, and refunds declined or only partly paid

Prices and value

Roamic sells prepaid plans with no contract or subscription. Prices are shown in your local currency, and you can switch to euros, US dollars, pounds and many other currencies. The price block beside this section shows its current prices per country.

Plans come in two kinds: a fixed amount of data for a set number of days, or unlimited data for a set number of days. Its product pages say that longer plans cost less per day, and Trustpilot reviewers often praise its prices compared with roaming.

Watch the unlimited plans. They are fair value if you use a few gigabytes a day, but heavy users and anyone sharing a connection with a laptop may be better off with a large fixed-data plan.

Coverage and networks

Roamic sells country and regional plans. The country block beside this section shows where its plans work.

It does not run its own network. Each country page names the local partner networks the eSIM joins, while regional plans list the network as Multiple. Plans connect on 3G, 4G or 5G depending on what is available. Its FAQ says speeds match a local line, and that slow speeds in remote areas come from local coverage.

Regional plans do not always cover every country you might expect, so check the country list on the plan page before you buy. One Trustpilot reviewer says support wrongly confirmed that a country was included in a regional plan, and others mention weak coverage away from big cities.

Plans and flexibility

All plans are data only. There is no phone number and no calls or texts, but your usual SIM stays active alongside the eSIM, so you can still receive calls and texts on your own number and keep using WhatsApp.

Unlimited plans follow a fair usage policy. As of October 2026, it gives 3GB of high-speed data per 24 hours, then 1 Mbps until the next cycle starts, with no extra charge; the allowance can vary by country. This is the most common complaint on Trustpilot, where reviewers say the slowdown was not clear when they bought.

Hotspot is allowed. The fair usage policy, however, forbids excessive tethering or sharing with several devices beyond normal personal use, as well as peer-to-peer and large automated downloads, and lets Roamic slow down or suspend lines it considers misused.

You can top up an eSIM from your online account while it is still active, that is not used up or expired. Its FAQ does not say whether a top-up also adds days. You cannot switch plans directly: you cancel and buy a new one.

Buying and setup

You buy on the website, and its terms say you may need an account for some services. There is no ID check, and its FAQ says the eSIM is not linked to your personal details, so you can install it on another person's phone. Your phone must support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked.

The QR code, a manual activation code and, on iPhone, a one-tap install link arrive by email. Install the eSIM before you leave, then turn on data roaming for it and set it as your data line when you arrive. The plan starts on first data use at your destination, and its FAQ says an eSIM left unused starts automatically after 180 days.

Roamic has no app of its own in the app stores, as of October 2026. Orders, data usage and top-ups are handled in a separate online account linked from its FAQ, and you can also check usage in your phone's settings. Its FAQ says an installed eSIM stays tied to that phone, so contact support before you change phones.

Support and refunds

Its FAQ says support is available 24 hours a day, every day, by live chat and email at info@roamic.com. There is also a contact form and a WhatsApp link, but no phone line is advertised on the site. Trustpilot reviewers say the WhatsApp line is answered by a bot, and some waited more than a week for an email reply.

Its refund policy is generous on unused eSIMs. If you bought on the Roamic website and never activated the eSIM, you can get a full refund within 180 days. If your phone turns out to be incompatible or locked, you get a full refund if the QR code was not scanned and no data was used, with proof.

After activation it gets stricter. Its terms say there is no refund once an eSIM is activated, except where the law requires one. For connection problems, the refund policy promises a full or partial refund if you report the issue to support during your trip, but not if you only report it afterwards. Other cases may get a partial refund minus an admin fee.

Is Roamic legit?

Yes. Roamic is run by Bytetravel S.A, a company in Sant Cugat del Valles near Barcelona, Spain, that also runs a visa service. Bytetravel began trading on the BME Scaleup market in July 2024. Its terms are governed by Spanish law, with the courts of Barcelona named for disputes.

The brand is young, launched in 2024, but its track record is public. Its Trustpilot profile is rated Excellent, with most reviewers praising easy setup and low prices, and Roamic replies to nearly all negative reviews (October 2026). The main points to know before buying are the data-only plans, the daily slowdown on unlimited plans and the short terms of service.

Roamic: questions travellers ask

Is Roamic legit?

Yes. Roamic is run by Bytetravel S.A, a travel-tech company based near Barcelona and listed on the Spanish BME market since July 2024. Its terms are governed by Spanish law, and it is rated Excellent on Trustpilot as of October 2026.

Does Roamic need ID?

No. Its FAQ says the eSIM is not linked to your personal details, so there is no ID check and you can buy one for someone else, as of October 2026.

Does Roamic allow hotspot?

Yes. Its product pages list hotspot as allowed. Its fair usage policy forbids excessive tethering or sharing with several devices beyond normal personal use, and on unlimited plans shared data counts towards the daily high-speed allowance.

Is Roamic unlimited data really unlimited?

Not at full speed. As of October 2026, its fair usage policy gives 3GB of high-speed data per 24 hours, then 1 Mbps until the next cycle, with no extra charge. The allowance can vary by country.

Does Roamic include a phone number?

No. All plans are data only, with no number, calls or texts. Your usual SIM stays active, so you can still receive calls and texts on your own number and use WhatsApp over data.

Can I top up a Roamic eSIM?

Yes, from your online account while the eSIM is still active, meaning not used up or expired. Its FAQ does not say whether a top-up adds days. Once a plan has ended, you buy a new eSIM.

Does Roamic have an app?

Not of its own, as of October 2026. You install the eSIM from the email Roamic sends, and you manage orders, usage and top-ups in a separate online account.

What is Roamic's refund policy?

If you bought on its website and never activated the eSIM, you get a full refund within 180 days. After activation there is no refund except where the law requires, or for connection problems you report to support during your trip.

How do I contact Roamic?

By live chat on its website, by email at info@roamic.com, through its contact form or by WhatsApp. Its FAQ says support is available 24/7. There is no phone line on the site.
