Roamtell eSIM review: prices, coverage and our verdict

Prices and value

Roamtell sells fixed-data plans and, according to its FAQ, unlimited plans in many destinations. The price block beside this section shows its current prices per country.

Prices differ by destination, so check the price block for the country you are visiting.

Plans are prepaid, with no contract or subscription.

Fixed-data plans have a set size and validity. Unlimited and daily plans are subject to a fair-use policy.

Coverage and networks

Roamtell sells plans for individual countries and territories. The country block beside this section shows where its plans work.

Alongside country plans, Roamtell sells regional plans for Europe, Asia and other regions, and a global plan its site describes as covering more than 100 countries. According to its global plan page, the eSIM switches to a partner network by itself when you cross a border, and it only works on land networks, not at sea or on flights.

Roamtell names some of the networks it uses, such as T-Mobile and Verizon in the US, KDDI and Softbank in Japan, and EE in the UK. Its terms say coverage and speed depend on local networks and can vary by location, time and device.

Plans and flexibility

Roamtell sells fixed-data plans everywhere and, according to its FAQ, unlimited plans in more than 130 destinations. Unlimited and daily plans are subject to a fair-use policy, and its terms say speed may be reduced after heavy use. Global plans on its site run from 7 days to 365 days.

Its FAQ says you can top up from the Roamtell app or your account, with the extra data added to the same eSIM. Its terms add that top-ups may be available, depending on the plan.

Most plans are data-only, with no phone number. Roamtell's site does also list Calls & SMS plans with a new phone number for the United States, the United Kingdom, Israel, the Netherlands and a global plan with a +1 US number.

According to its terms and FAQ, hotspot is allowed on most plans unless the plan page says otherwise. Plans are prepaid, with no contract or subscription.

Buying, setup and the app

Roamtell's FAQ says you can pay by Visa, Mastercard, PayPal or Apple Pay, with prices in US dollars and Canadian dollars also available. Its terms and privacy policy name PowerTranz as its card processor. You can buy as a guest: its terms ask for an email address and phone number, while its site says an email address is enough.

Its site says no passport or ID is asked at checkout, including for Calls & SMS plans. The QR code arrives by email, usually straight after payment, and is also kept in your account. For most plans, validity starts when the eSIM first connects in your destination, not at purchase.

Roamtell has an iOS app, first released in September 2026. On the US App Store it had too few ratings to show a score (October 2026), and the seller is listed as an individual developer rather than a company. We could not find an Android app on Google Play.

Support and refunds

Roamtell offers support by email at info@roamtell.com or through a ticket from your account. Its site says its team answers in English and French, and its refund policy says it replies within 2 business days. We did not find live chat, WhatsApp or a phone line.

Its refund policy sets out the cases clearly. If the eSIM has not been installed or activated, you can get a full refund within 30 days of purchase without giving a reason. If it is installed but does not work because of a problem on Roamtell's or its partner's side, it offers a replacement or a full or prorated refund.

There is no refund once data has been used, if your plans change after installation, if the phone is locked or incompatible, or if speed was reduced under fair use. Approved refunds go to the original payment method and usually appear within 5 to 10 business days. Its policy also says it may suspend an eSIM while a chargeback is open.

Is Roamtell legit?

Roamtell says it is a travel eSIM store based in Montreal, Quebec, and its terms are governed by Quebec and Canadian law, without removing the consumer protection rules of your country. It publishes terms, a privacy policy and a refund policy, all dated October 2026. We could not find a registered company name, a street address or when the business was founded.

Its public track record is very small. Roamtell has a single review on Trustpilot (October 2026), and its iOS app, released in September 2026, does not yet have enough ratings to show a score. Its site says it is a verified provider on eSIMDB.
